Pirot, Serbia: Final Conference of the Erasmus + ‘Robotics Curriculum Development’ Project

In Pirot, Serbia, the Final Conference of the Erasmus + project ‘Robotics Curriculum Development’ (KA210-VET-2C05C51F) took place from 23-27 September 2024. The Conference was hosted by the Project Coordinator, Technical School Pirot.

Colleagues from School of Robotics, a partner in the project with Pirot’s NGO Osvezenje, gave presentations on the methodology of coding and educational robotics in Italy and the state of application of robotic arms in manufacturing in Italy.

The Handbook ‘Industrial robotics – operating and programming’ is one of the results of a project, derived from the work of all the months of the project and contains a curriculum dedicated to manipulative robotics and robotic arms for students in technical and vocational schools. The course held in Italy by Scuola di Robotica from 15 to 20 April 2024 and attended by Italian and Serbian teachers and students was preparatory to the drafting of this Manual, which includes various activities carried out by the participants.

The Handbook, which was officially presented at the Final Conference in Pirot, offers lessons derived from workshop activities focusing on both theory and robotics use cases, with the aim of preparing students in technical institutes for a world of work into which robotics has massively entered.

Given the limitations of time and context, the Handbook cannot be a university-level course in Systems and Control Theory for Automation, but the Partners’ commitment has been to provide participants in the project, and all those who will use it, with a general overview of the state of the art in collaborative robotics, the use of robotic arms in industry, and beyond, so that students can plan their profession, or future course of study, with sufficient knowledge.
