Genova, October 16, 2024: seminar on Topological Data Analysis in Robotics

Researcher Víctor Toscano Durán (University of Seville) presents his research on the application of topological data analysis to robotics.

In particular, Toscano Durán studied topological data analysis in the context of the Horizon project REXASI-PRO.

Topological Data Analysis (TDA) offers powerful tools for understanding the structure of complex data. TDA has emerged as a valuable approach for studying the geometry and connectivity of data sets that evolve over time or space.

In this talk, the Researcher Víctor Toscano Durán introduces TDA, focusing on its objectives in data analysis and its intersection with Artificial Intelligence.

The seminar covers the foundations of topology and TDA, while also presenting the most elementary tools used in TDA.  Additionally, it explores examples demonstrating how TDA can be applied to analyse simulations of the REXASI-PRO robotics system.
