Nao Challenge Master Class: the award ceremony on June 3rd 2020

On June 3, 2020 at 16:15 will be held the award ceremony of the hackathon Nao Challenge Master Class organized following the suspension of the Nao Challenge 2020 caused by the health emergency COVID-19.

Students and teachers enrolled in the Nao Challenge had the opportunity to work remotely and continue the projects they had prepared for the semifinals of the contest thanks to an online course consisting of a part related to online communication, brand identity and the creation of multimedia materials and websites, and a practical part in which students tested their skills by developing videos and websites to promote their projects.

In the first webinar with the NAO Challenge teams the theme of brand identity and how the development of a brand that has a strong impact on the audience was addressed. At the end of the webinar, students were asked to create a logo for their team and the project.

During the second online meeting, we talked with the teams about video editing and the creation of commercials for the promotion of the projects. The objective of this webinar was to stimulate the students to create a promotional spot for their project. The creation of a commercial was the second task of the hackathon.

Finally, during the third webinar, we discussed with the students how to create a good website: about the techniques to be used to effectively communicate products or projects, the different platforms, free and paid, and how to write a promotional text for the web. At the end of the webinar, the teams were asked to create a website hosting the video clip made in the second test, and the brand developed in the first one, in order to obtain a complete and useful product to disseminate their project.

The three on-line lessons have been followed with interest and appreciation from students and teachers and this is demonstrated by the good participation in the hackathon. In fact, 38 teams presented their final projects and will participate in the awards ceremony on Wednesday, June 3, 2020, when the juries will select the winners. A definitely positive number in a not easy moment for schools, teachers, and students.
