At Villa Bombrini in Genoa Cornigliano and at the Great Campus of Erzelli in Genoa, Italy, the challenge between secondary school children. The theme of this year’s edition is robotics at the service of medicine.
GENOA – The Robotics Olympiad is back again this year, the national challenge now in its fourth edition, promoted by Scuola di Robotica and the Ministry of Education in collaboration with Scuola Digitale Liguria.
On Friday 6 and Saturday 7 May 2022, 90 secondary school students from all over Italy will travel to Genoa to compete for the victory. The activities scheduled for Friday 6 May will be concentrated in the scenic location of Villa Bombrini, where the EduFest, Festival of Education, will also take place and the teams will exhibit their projects to the public; on Saturday, instead, the students will move to the Great Campus – Science and Technology Park, Genoa’s cradle of ICT, in the Liguria Digitale headquarters for the presentation to the juries and the holding of a Hackathon at the end of which the winning teams will be selected.
The competition, which is free of charge, is open to selected students from secondary schools and aims to promote, encourage and support the potential of robotics, with particular reference to STEAM. In particular, the upcoming edition will focus on the theme of robotics at the service of medicine.
The finalist teams will have to conceive, design and implement projects that offer solutions to support activities aimed at improving people’s health and wellbeing, and will compete in three different categories: prosthetic robotics, personal care robotics, and rehabilitation robotics.
The prize-giving ceremony for the winning teams will be held on Saturday 21 May 2022 starting at 3 pm in the Padiglione Nazioni of the Fortezza da Basso in Florence, during the Didacta 2022 trade fair.
